Here is a quick start guide for the Steam Deck:ġ) Install and open it (regular installer is fine, the offline installer is only meant for people in regions that cannot access github. But like I said in my other post, this is worth keeping an eye on. Refresh rate changing was recently added also, so it's not available in the profiles yet either.
I believe setting the GPU clock is broken also at the moment (doesn't do anything even if you change it). For example you cannot navigate the overlay with a controller just yet (you need to use touch screen or mouse cursor for now). Handheld Companion is still in beta for Steam Deck, so the experience is not 100% there yet. However, if you change TDP with power control, don't change it with handheld companion and vice versa (I believe the tools cannot see the changes the other tool made.
Steam Deck Tools still has a lot more features like fan control, performance overlay and power control allows changing more settings than Handheld Companion, so it would be unwise to replace it entirely (but again, you can use this to replace steam controller from Steam Deck Tools). This can be used alongside Steam Deck Tools (except Steam Controller).
